Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Minara Chamber of Commerce, strengthening their long-standing partnership and shared commitment to promoting trade, investment, and economic growth in KwaZulu-Natal.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, TIKZN CEO Sihle Ngcamu said the partnership is a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and business networking for Minara Chamber members. “TIKZN commits to promoting KwaZulu-Natal as an attractive trade and investment destination, supporting Minara Chamber members in expanding their businesses into local and international markets, strengthening their export readiness, facilitating access to relevant incentives and opportunities, and collaborating on seminars, workshops, trade missions and other initiatives that contribute to enterprise development, market access and global competitiveness,” he added.

Ebrahim Patel echoed this saying, “Through this partnership, Minara and TIKZN will work together to explore export opportunities, assist businesses in accessing global markets, market KwaZulu-Natal as an attractive investment destination, and showcase local businesses internationally. Together, we aim to drive business growth, increase exports and investment, and create employment opportunities.”

TIKZN looks forward to working closely with the Minara Chamber of Commerce to unlock new trade and investment opportunities for KwaZulu-Natal businesses locally and internationally.

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal was in Accra, Ghana, from the 25-27 August 2026 supporting KZN companies at the West Africa Trade Show 2026, a leading platform for trade, investment, and business networking across Africa.

This year's event brought together manufacturers, exporters, investors, technology companies, and business leaders from across Africa. KwaZulu-Natal was strongly represented by companies from a range of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, mining, healthcare, environmental solutions, construction products, education technology, software development, logistics, maritime services, and industrial infrastructure.

TIKZN was represented at the event by Christina Pillay, Export Promotion Officer, who assisted and supported the participating companies throughout the event. Through this initiative, TIKZN continued to promote KZN's export capabilities, support business growth, and strengthen South Africa's position as a key trading partner across the African continent.

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal provided on the ground support to 8 KZN companies exhibiting under the dtic National Pavilion at the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM 2026) in Mozambique, which took place from 31 August to 6 September 2026.

FACIM serves as an important platform for companies to showcase their products and services, engage with potential customers, strengthen business networks, establish new partnerships, explore supply chain opportunities, and launch innovative solutions to a targeted business audience. Participation in the event supported the expansion of KwaZulu-Natal businesses into regional and international markets.

Representing TIKZN at the exhibition was Matome Kgomommu: Export Promotion Manager, who provided support to participating companies and facilitated valuable business engagements throughout the event.
