Representing the ANC in today's debate will be ANCYL delegates Cde. Senamile Hlongwane, who will serve as the first speaker, and Cde. Demian Makansi, who will serve as the second speaker. Today, we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the June 16 Soweto Uprising, a defining moment in our nation's struggle for freedom and justice. We honour the bravery, sacrifice and resilience of the youth of 1976 who stood against oppression and changed the course of South African history.

The ANCYL KwaZulu-Natal Province yesterday hosted a FIFA World Cup 2026 public viewing at Albert Park, eThekwini, in a show of unwavering support for Bafana Bafana as they take on Mexico on the world stage.

The programme was graced by ANC Head of Mobilisation, Cde Amanda Bani, alongside the leadership of the ANC in eThekwini Region led by Cde Thanduxolo.

True to the League’s commitment, the gathering was also a platform to advance voter registration among young people ahead of the 4th of November — because the fight for a better South Africa is won both on the pitch and at the ballot box.
