His Worship the Mayor, Cllr B.A. Radebe, warmly welcomed the Interfaith Leadership, led by Chairperson Mrs T. Gule and her team, during a courtesy visit to the Dannhauser Local Municipality.

The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the Interfaith structure and its leadership following its official launch on 18 May 2026 in King Cetshwayo District.

The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the role that faith-based organisations play in promoting social cohesion, moral regeneration, community development and nation-building.

Dannhauser Local Municipality looks forward to building a strong and productive working relationship with the Interfaith Leadership for the benefit of all residents.

Please be informed that a Special Council Meeting of Dannhauser Local Municipality will be held virtually today, 27 May 2026 at 13H00 on Microsoft Teams.

The meeting will consider and approve the Final Budget and IDP for the 2026/2027 financial year.

WARD 9 COMMUNITY HALL PROJECT UPDATE

The Ward 9 Community Hall project is currently progressing well and has now reached approximately 93% completion.

The contractor is currently finalising key outstanding works, which include:
β€’ Drainage installation and improvements
β€’ Roof bracing at the ablution facilities
β€’ Installation and completion of the water tank system

These remaining works are essential to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and able to serve the community effectively for years to come.

Dannhauser Local Municipality remains committed to improving community infrastructure and creating facilities that will benefit residents through meetings, community programmes, social events, and other developmental activities.

The Municipal Manager, Mr M.S Sithole, has today convened a Special Bid Adjudication Committee (BAC) Session as part of a rapid response intervention towards the electrification project for Ward 10.

This follows a commitment made by His Worship the Mayor, Cllr B.A Hadebe, in response to the concerns and outcries raised by the Ward 10 community regarding access to electricity.

Although the project was not initially budgeted for in the original financial year budget, the municipality prioritised the matter during the recent Adjustment Budget process to ensure that funding could be accommodated in order to address this critical community need.

The Special BAC Session is therefore sitting today to expedite processes towards the appointment of a suitable contractor who will deliver electrification services to the Ward 10 community.

This intervention demonstrates the municipality’s continued commitment to responsive governance, service delivery acceleration, and improving the living conditions of our communities.

The municipality kindly requests the Ward 10 community and all affected communities to exercise patience and understanding as the necessary supply chain and administrative processes are being finalised to ensure the successful implementation of this important project.

MPAC SESSION | MANDATE REFRESH & OVERSIGHT PREPARATIONS

The Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC), under the leadership of newly appointed Chairperson Cllr VG Ngcane, convened for a session aimed at refreshing and strengthening its understanding of the committee’s mandate.

The session further focused on preparations for upcoming oversight visits, where MPAC will conduct on-site evaluations of municipal projects to assess progress, compliance, and service delivery impact within communities.

Dannhauser Municipality IDP Roadshow

Dannhauser Local Municipality’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Roadshow is currently underway, with full attendance led by His Worship the Mayor, Cllr B.A. Radebe, the Honourable Speaker of Council, Cllr M.T. Mabaso, Members of Council, and Municipal Manager Mr MS Sithole.

Also in attendance are the Acting Mayor of Amajuba District Municipality, His Worship Cllr Mthembu, accompanied by the Speaker of Council, Cllr Zulu.

The engagement forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to strengthening public participation and advancing integrated service delivery for the benefit of all communities.
