THIS! From Pinterest. To inspire me to keep going! Many of the potters I have known stopped doing pottery when they got older. Well, not me. Not yet anyway. Haha! But maybe just in winter when the clay is freezing and so are my hands. 🥶🤣🤣🤣

Memory lane! Yesterday we visited friends that we made in Kimberley more than 30 years ago. They told me that they had some mugs that they got from me then and there they were on a Welsh dresser in their beautiful dining room. Such feelings of nostalgia! I used to decorate with wax resist in those days. I only later learned to paint with underglaze. And I mostly used that lovely buff coloured clay (which I can’t get any more). I was very delighted when I looked closely at the mugs. They are light and very well thrown. If anything my throwing has gone backwards a bit! Oh dear! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Verna and Phillip Barton for keeping those. I am blown away by the feelings those mugs invoked. ❤️

Job satisfaction! ❤️ When you get up early and walk to the pottery studio, open the kiln and see this! Yay! Culmination of a lot of hours of work. I am very lucky to still be strong and healthy enough to do the work I love.

I haven’t made teapots for quite a lot of years. Probably because most people use teabags now, but I was asked to make one and so I made a few, and loved doing it. I forgot how pleasing it is to make something with so many parts that need to fit! So, I will probably make some more, just because… ❤️❤️
