The BANKSETA, today, hosted the graduation ceremony of 68 BANKSETA beneficiaries, who graduated in GuKompo (recently known as East London). These learners have successfully completed the Small Business Manager Skills Programme, funded by BANKSETA.

An initiative under the BANKSETA Entrepreneurship Funding Window, which was aimed to empower and support young people in business. These support initiatives are designed to strengthen entrepreneurs, new businesses, and small and medium enterprises so that they can mature, access markets, employ more resources, and contribute to South Africa’s economic growth, within the broader banking and microfinance sector.

Sakhaulutsha Youth Development, partnered with BANKSETA on this project.

Are you planning to study Disaster Management or Fire Engineering/Fire Technology in 2027?

The National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) is inviting eligible South African students to apply for its 2027 External Bursary Programme.

The bursary provides:

✅ 100% tuition fees, including registration
✅ Support for qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate students
✅ Research allowance of up to R11 000 for eligible Master’s students

📅 Closing date: 30 September 2026

Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr. Dube-Ncube, handed over the newly built Ngqhungqhushe campus and renewable Energy Training Centre at Ingwe TVET College in Lusikisiki- Eastern Cape on the 27th August 2026.

The occasion brought together two significant investments, through strategic partnerships between the National Skills Fund (NSF) and the Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA).

The BANKSETA was in attendance, expanding access to quality post-school education and training opportunities. BANKSETA imparted knowledge to the students, offering career guidance, information on learning pathways, bursary opportunities and skills development programmes. This gave students an opportunity to engage directly with prospective sponsors, and promoted sector-specific career opportunities, which contributes to making informed career choices.

BANKSETA is proud to have been a part of this prestigious event.
