Fine-Free Week from 5 to 11 September 2026, allowing you to return all overdue books and materials without any late penalties.

What You Need to Know

Dates: 5 September to 11 September 2026.

Where: Return items to any City of Cape Town public library branch, regardless of where you checked them out.

Included:
Overdue books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and children's/young adult items.

Exclusions: Replacement fees for lost or damaged items still apply, and fines on previously returned materials are not waived.

The next Delft library fine-free week is scheduled from 5 to 11 September 2026.

What is waived: Late-return fines on currently overdue library items returned during this period.

Exceptions: Replacement fees for lost or damaged items and fines on previously returned materials still apply in full.
