As the year comes to a close, we would like to wish everyone a peaceful festive and a happy new year!
In closing, our movement did very well in recent by-elections, especially in KZN.
We must endeavour to ensure that the GPUs in Gauteng and KZN survive the attempts of the MKP to destabilise them, especially in KZN.
As the by-election results have shown, the MKP has nothing to offer our people as they have no tangible proof of governance. We should continue to demonstrate strategic thought and effectives when it comes to governing in the GNU and GPUs.
Our deployees must put their heads down and put in the work while remaining humble. As long as they can do that, we are convinced that our movement can and will regain its majority in government. However, we must cognisant of the fact that the days of supermajorities like the ones we achieved in 2004 (69%), 2009 (65%), and 2014 (62%) are no longer feasible in the short to medium terms.
However, we should strive regain the trust and confidence our people. We can only do this by governing properly, ensuring that policies that promote growth, development, and employment are implemented with surgical precision.
This year was one of the toughest years in our movement in the democratic dispensation.
We are confident that the new year will bring a renewed sense of purpose for our movement and deployees.
Amandla!
