The fact that we find students owing the Institution and some being financial excluded it’s enough for those students to qualify for Free Education.

Let’s all make our way to the General Meeting for the total attainment of Free Education.

17/10/2019

Even if we don't have full support from the management side the Phephela SRC manage to come up with learner' s licence. We all know that for us to obtain driver's license we need learner' s licence first , minus one problem.

We initiated the meal a day programs and students came and have meals.

The sanitary towels were also distributed to students.

All was done in a space of only seven months.

Such things are never mentioned by those who act as if they have much care for students. But we know is not easy for someone who does not believe in good things to mention the good.

Ours is to finish what we have started.

EFFSC CPUT BELLVILLE CAMPUS STATEMENT ON NSFAS, ACCOMODATION AND CURRENT STATUS QOU.
February, 28 2019
Thursday
• EFFSC notes and welcomes the early release of NSFAS allowances for students who fall under NSFAS category whose applications for funding has been approved. We however note that not all our students who fall in NSFAS criteria eligibility are getting funds, some are rejected mostly on poor academic performance from previous years. We urge students to check and track their application status online, or visit financial aid office on campus to be tracked or alternatively the SRC offices. This will ensure that, those who are requested to appeal do so and in time. EFFSC has vowed to be the voice of the voiceless and be the necessary catalyst in speeding up the release of allowances to students. To students who are struggling to or want assistance with drafting their appeals to NSFAS are urged to report to SRC offices or SRC conference room 13h00 today till late as the fighters will assembly to help assist students and ensure they are funded. Students must remember we as EFFSC from the inception we have rejected NSFAS and have called for FREE EDUCATION for all, we however view this as a step towards the realisation of free education. We will not relent and we know it’s a government based decision hence we are even more motivated and we will ensure the EFF triumphs in the coming national elections. We have come to understand that only under the EFF government where we will have free education.
We do acknowledge that there were hiccups but again we have managed to provide leadership despite the loud hailers who oppose and contradict everything positive for the sake of narrow selfish political ends. The PASMA SASCO alliance (PASCO) has been nothing but great spectators who can only vilify the mighty EFFSC. We said it from the beginning that we will fight till the bitter end, students have entrusted us with their votes and we shall ensure we take care of all the ills and evils that become obstacles in their journey of academic excellence.
Lastly on NSFAS and food allowances we urge our students to spend their allowances wisely and with caution. We are busy finalising a program that will involve banks where we will host weekly seminars every Friday and invite banks to advise on financial plans, how to save and most importantly how to ensure you spend your money most effectively.
• ACCOMODATION remains a huge problem as we still have our students who are in dire need of accommodation sleeping in TV rooms. We strongly feel that the university is insensitive about the issue and to some extent its deliberate for selfish looting schemes. The housing business office is the most useless office in our institution as it’s the one entrusted with scouting out of potential buildings engage landlords and finalize the finer terms and conditions. It has dismally failed on its duties instead what we are noting is the vested interest in monopolising buildings to one owner. This is live corruption and it will be exposed and squashed for it does not only disadvantage students it exhibits what our institution has become. We note with disgust the attitude of the dean of students who confidently claims on media that students who are homeless are those who did not apply. This is untrue and we shall expose the inconsistencies of housing department as we have consistently assisted students coming outside the province who were accepted last year. Be it they applied or came in as walk ins accommodation is needed. We have been uncompromising and we can safely say we are on the verge of securing yet another building which we hope will put our housing crisis behind us. Housing is land, accommodation is land and this speaks directly to societal ills and therefore we must never isolate these issues. For those students in need of accommodation we have been consistent in assisting and ensuring they have a place to sleep and have access to ablution facilities. This does not in turn means the struggle is over we are consistent and radical in approach we will not rest until we see it done.
Lastly on accommodation students who have not written their names on the SRC list who need accommodation must visit the SRC offices or contact our LSRC res and transport rep to ensure we have their names. This might seems as a foetal exercise with no results but a necessary tool when engaging with university as numbers don’t lie.

• On current status quo we have managed to ensure the ancestors of PASCO who were academically excluded are brought back into the system and finish their studies for we believe our political differences don’t make us enemies and we believe education is service to Afrika, the doors of learning shall be open for all. We come from very evil times under the tenure of PASMA where it was an achievement to fight for exclusion of your political opponent from the system. We hope the PASCO brigades can learn one or two things from the set pacers that political arena must not be reduced to personal attacks. We wish all our students good and we will give all the support we can get to ensure students excel academically, students socialize for social cohesion purposes, which essentially means something exciting is coming soon. However we cannot have any of those until we have finalised the issue of accommodation.

• To our SRC continue in your radical approach we will criticize you when its necessary equally we will defend you from hyenas who want to ridicule and vilify your efforts. We still maintain our call which is total implementation of our manifesto. We call upon the SRC to always adhere to SRC constitution and respect their constitutional responsibility of convening mass meetings at least once in every quarter.

EFFSC BELLVILLE CAMPUS STATEMENT ON SRC BUDGET AND ON CENTRAL SRC PRESIDENT PHATHINDWE MNCAMASE July, 2018 23

EFFSC has learned that the SRC has been given its budget by the executive of the university and is of today available for the SRC to use it for the better good and or benefit of the majority of students. Bellville SRC has been allocated R293 244.00 and it remains to be seen as to what it will do and how it will be allocated to various structures. We have over the past two years observed how this money is misused and looted by SRC members and their close acquaintances. But this year there is a surprising element and out of greed the SRC is exposing its hypocrisy and low moral standards. This year the only available student leaders on the ground to help assist students with their needs was and still EFFSC leaders, SRC was declared dysfunctional and with only one member who was available to serve under the local SRC which is chairperson Romaric Mbakop. It is disgraceful to learn that now that the SRC budget is out retired SRC members are starting to crawl out as legitimate SRC members. Again students must note this behaviour as of people who have other agendas besides serving the interests of students.

Phathindwe Mncamase who is the central SRC president is a lunatic lumpen , a dogmatic power monger who is lose and has lost touch with moral obligation and respect of the position he occupies. He is a puppet of a PASMA cartel that runs the institution parallel with the structure of executive management every decision he makes is sponsored and is nothing more than self-serving rot.
Phathindwe has left a trail of his brutality in ensuring his pocket is filled with money. In 2017 he organized a bash when students were on protest of financial exclusions and expelled student leaders, despite having been called to postpone or halt entirely the bash for it will desensitize the protest of students and we can’t be having social events while the future of many remains uncertain.

Phathindwe was even ordered by his PASMA branch of Bellville not to continue with event but he did and later the were casualties as the chairperson of PASMA and other PASMA members went to disrupt the event and students were injured some arrested. This reckless behaviour is of a self-serving tycoon, we learned that he benefited 50 000 and the company who was selling alcohol was of a PASMA student in the cartel of Phathindwe. Phathindwe closed a deal of HG travelling services as he sits in tender process and has benefited huge sums of money from the tender of HG and he is currently planning on buying a nice luxurious car within the next two weeks. The tender of HG has many people benefiting others having benefited from its inception. Phathindwe was coopted in the tender of HG by a former PASMA leader who is today lying low and leaving mess in his trail.

Early this year Phathindwe was involved in the leasing or residences and has again engulfed his big stomach on stolen money. It is alleged that he was bribed to vote Dr Nhlapho as the new VC of CPUT. Phathindwe has already cited that now that the SRC budget is out he will be starting to make arrangements of CPUT prelims and is already facilitating the looting team to finalize everything. Phathindwe is a lose canon, he has no political conscious or whatsoever he is a dangerous puppet of the cartel as he is recklessly misusing money for he benefits. Phathindwe was never seen not even once in a student crisis be it a residential crisis, financial related or anyone can think of, it is not because he doesn’t know these issues affecting students but he just doesn’t care and has no obligation to attend to those issues. Last time he was involved was when he was LSRC chairperson in 2015 where he peed his pants when he was required to go submit the memorandum of demands to the executive management. He has no capacity to lead and has lead the student fraternity to misery as he was part of the meetings discussing and finalizing residence fee increase, of campus residence shuttle fee increase and agreed with management on behalf of students without consulting students. Pseudo-revolutionaries like him must be rejected and must be exposed and anyone who tries to defend a corrigible stooge must be treated with suspicion and disregarded from constructive dialogs of student affairs.

Phathindwe will never witness the prelims he is ready to bag thousands of money, that money will be reallocated for far greater needs facing students and we will not rest to ensure it lends on right hands at the right time, Phathindwe and his cartel must use the already looted money, this kind of behavior of student leaders is made possible by highly corrupt executive management people who are eating on the same dish of corruption. We will fight tooth and nail to root out corruption.

EFFSC STATEMENT ANATHEMATIZING THE DEPORTMENT AND DELINQUENT PREDILECTION TAKEN BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING!

The EFFSC would like to remind the executive that students are the major stakeholders in this institution and they must be treated with respect and dignity. Students can't be treated like hobos.

The EFFSC condemns the stance taken by the Department of Housing together with the CPUT Executive of closing the Freedom Square Residence which accommodates +365 students and they chose to open an accredited residence off-campus which accommodates less than half of the closed resident, understanding that students will have problems with shuttles because the residence is not leased.

The EFFSC rejects the new residence that has been opened because it’s just a way of capitalising out of student’s misery. The ignorant executive together with those of housing should learn to serve the interest of students, instead of profit prioritization. Understanding that at the beginning of the semester the EFFSC forced the Acting Dean of students to give meal vouchers to those that have been accepted by NSFAS, It has come to our attention that the money was taken from SETA to silence students to not raise the issue of Mal-Administration taking place in CPUT.

EFFSC is very shocked and flabbergasted by the stance taken by the Deputy VC of Academics that the academic appeals of student should be rejected and not be entertained in any form including first year students, this is a deliberate strategy to rob rooms from students to cap for the numerical imbalance of the closed/opened resident.

The EFFSC understands and accept that CPUT is operated by oligarchy and lootist elites, people who do not understand student needs and people who are ready to expel, suspend students whenever they are trying to raise their grievances.

The EFFSC will only welcome a residence that has more than 365 beds including single rooms and Student friendly residence that promotes academic excellence by ensuring safety, to be well resourced and furnished to allow the process of studying with ease.

The EFFSC believes that if the CPUT executive can stop standing aloof, everything can be resolved in a friendly manner without any unpleasant experiences.

We further reject this continuous housing model of substitution residents instead of addition, EFFSC demands total commitment for the university to build and own property. We call on total elimination of this mediocratic model of leasing and accrediting, because it has failed out of proportion.

EFFSC CPUT BELLVILLE CAMPUS STATEMENT ON THE SELLING OUT POSITION TAKEN BY THE LSRC ON JUNE ACCOMODATION
Monday, 19 June 2017

EFFSC Bellville campus vehemently rejects the posture taken by the LSRC on the June accommodation issue. The strategy and approach used by the LSRC in the issue of June accommodation is a cowardice approach and it further emphasises selloutism embedded in the PASMA associates.

It must also be known that at first the issue of June accommodation was first raised and attended to by the EFFSC however some PASMA SRC Stooges deemed it just and political viable to highjack the genuine student issue and use it as a cheap political scoring mechanism. These actions are indeed of a dying organisation which has died many deaths only to be resurrected through t-shirt politics and bashes.

We must warn student to take note of the real enemy of progress, PASMA SRC has one again compromised students and chose management over students.
EFFSC reiterates once more again and affirms the CPUT student populace that students must and will be allowed to stay over during the June holiday with or without submitting papers to some clowns who are now working on housing department, maybe it is fair and just to call our LSRC placement officers.

Students now are compromised and exposed to all sorts of undignified and subhuman practices which we are fighting only to see those who claim to be PAN Africanist mimicking the same old practices imposed at us by the violent capitalist system in institutions of higher learning.

Posting a list of students who have submitted documents through the SRC is rather telling of their status and further portrays their desperation and once again they are reminded their position in this violent space, their position is that of a beggar with less or no means and therefore must carry the burden of being known by everybody that his/her struggle is of a servant child.
SRC is supposed to be an autonomous body that seeks to advance student interest but what we have in our campus is a PASMA stokvel that is immune to great and progressive ideas and principles suggested by progressive forces, the EFF Student Command.

We will advise our students on the progress made in dealing with the matter, but students must take note that PASMA led SRC is not assisting as it has already compromised principle and will stop at nothing in making sure political gains are top priority hence it will further supress the motion and run to the offices to prevent EFFSC, but we remain adamant and resolute on our quest of emancipating students from hyper exploitation by the university. The negotiated selling out model of students submitting documents and writing names with justifications of staying over is nonsensical and must never be applauded by students as victory, there is no victory in that, they have just modified the exploitative model and furnished it up to sound more appeasing to the desperate, they are mediators now between housing department and students and are discussing with housing department on how best it can be done to exploit students.
