Every child deserves the chance to do what children do best: laugh, play, dream, and simply be a child. Together, we can help create safe spaces where children feel protected, valued, and free to grow into their full potential.

Child Protection Week at Steinthal Child and Youth Care Centre💚
Every child deserves safety, love, and the opportunity to thrive.

Facility Manager Charmaine Prince shares how Steinthal CYCC provides hope, care, and guidance to children who need it most. Through love, support, and empowerment, they are creating a safe environment for children to heal, grow, and develop into resilient adults.

Protecting children is not only a responsibility during Child Protection Week – it is a commitment we all share every day.

Together, we can stop violence and abuse against children and help build a brighter future for the leaders of tomorrow. 💚

💛 Hope in Motion: Our May Newsletter is Here!
May arrived with energy, emotion, and plenty of memorable moments. From Child Protection Week preparations and inspiring community partnerships to acts of kindness, creativity, and care, this month reminded us that hope is often found in people who choose to make a difference.

Across the Western Cape, businesses, churches, volunteers, donors, and community members stepped forward to support those in need, proving once again that caring communities are built when we work together.

💙💚 Child Protection Week Kick Off! 💚💙
Every child deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, protected, and free to simply be a child. 🌈✨
Children should be able to play, laugh, learn, and grow in safe environments where hope and happiness can flourish.

Together, we can create safer communities for every child because child protection is everyone’s responsibility. 🤝

When disaster strikes, partnership matters.🤝
Following the devastating storms that swept through the Western Cape on 10 and 11 May 2026, many vulnerable communities were left facing increased hardship and uncertainty. In response, Shoprite Holdings through its Checkers CSI division partnered with Badisa by providing R32 000 in vouchers for their brand stores to support programmes directly impacted by the crisis.

But this partnership extends beyond immediate relief.

Three Checkers stores in the Western Cape have also been identified to partner with Badisa through the retailer’s surplus food donation programme, helping redirect quality food to communities in need instead of allowing it to go to waste.

This is what meaningful collaboration looks like: businesses and community organisations working together to restore dignity, strengthen food security, and create lasting social impact where it is needed most.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Shoprite/Checkers CSI and the participating stores for choosing to invest in people, communities, and hope.
