Drones For Nature

Drones For Nature Drones For Nature is a South African registered NGO (2014/064864/08) with one goal, to help Nature Conservation protecting our environment. that is our mission.

With the technological improvement in automated vehicle control, we got approached to build a system helping to track brown hyenas in Botswana. The drones we developed got the attention of Braam Malherbe, who is closely involved with the South African Rhino Foundations. We got invited to Durban by the KZN Park Rangers and did a demo. This resulted in a special request to develop a packpack drone f

or close encounters of the rangers with poachers. We promised to come 90 days later with a prototype for a field test. This field test will be beginning of September and if successful, the "Squirrel" will get into service short after. Beside we develop systems for medium distance 20km perimeter patrol (a 100km version is in planing), a glider to help tracking vultures over long distance, high resolution mapping and a float device, which is designed to filter ocean water and remove micro plastic particles. Drones helping mother nature.. We are well aware that three people can't do all this. That is why we are in the process to setup a Think Tank on our website. This think tank is for everybody who is interested in helping this cause. Projects, requests from scientists, will be made public to the think tank members. The solution will get produced and send to the scientist for his use. The technology of drones can do more as just kill people or deliver beer...
