Over the last few months - The om garden has been busy
150 Rondbosch boys did community service ,
Pinelands 1st Scouts group and now we are half way through the program for ladies for sustainable gardening .
Lots of exciting things on the cards over the next few months so keep those eyes peeled!

What a day. Makhosi
2nd session of our garden programme completed.
Garden design n layouts and implementation. Then we dedicated our 2nd half of our program to Madiba. A cake was made , eaten and then placards painted to be placed around the garden next time. 😀

The good news : On 10 June, Heritage Western Cape upheld their decision under appeal from WC Government/Infrastructure in that the Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) for proposed development is not approved.
The next challenge : While the HIA appeal was in process, Western Cape officials, eager to develop, lost no time in applying pressure from another angle, through a rezoning application.
If this application goes through, there is a strong likelihood that Oude Molen could become the next "Amazon/Riverlands" - this neighbouring land is owned by property developers who continue to exploit and devastate the land for profit.
Oude Molen is one of the few remaining heritage-rich areas, steeped in First Nation culture, and the site of biodiverse and environmentally sensitive land which is home to endangered and at-risk species in the Western Cape.
