The great white shark has always inhabited the Mediterranean Sea, feeding and reproducing in these waters, with some of the largest specimens ever observed, recorded in the area. The species was once relatively common in several areas of the Mediterranean, and was regularly caught in tuna traps while following the bluefin tuna to feed on them. However, fishing has caused a gradual decline of the great white shark in these waters, leading to the current situation, in which the species is at risk of disappearing completely from the area. In this talk, the results of 30 years of research on the presence of the species in the Mediterranean will be presented.

The Shark Museum is open only on the days of the scheduled events. In order to attend an event, registration is compulsory. People who want to attend the talk must send an email to [email protected]

🦆 A Quacking Good Time: May Storytime! 🦆

This month, we enjoyed Night Night, Sleep Tight – Farm Animals by Lucy Rowland and Monika Forsberg — a gentle, calming story that follows farm animals as they settle down for the night. 🌙🐑🐓

With ducks as our inspiration, the children got creative by making their very own duck craft using the letter “d.” ✨😁

They coloured in the letter and added a duck face, feet, and wing, turning a simple shape into a cheerful little duck. 🎨🦆

We can’t wait to discover who will join us for next month’s storytime adventure! 👀📚
