🙌 Team Belgium at the “EU–Namibia Business Forum”!
🇪🇺🇳🇦 Following the first edition organized in October 2023 in Brussels, the 2nd “EU-Namibia Business Forum” took place from 11-13 May 2026 in Windhoek, under the theme “Towards stronger, greener and more diversified economies: Catalyzing Business and Trade Opportunities between the EU and Namibia.”
💬 Bringing together over 400 high-level attendees from EU and Namibian private sectors, policy makers, innovators and financing institutions, the forum offered panel discussions, dedicated exhibition spaces, and a robust B2B platform.
🤝 At the opening of the business forum, European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall announced the renewal until 2030 of the “EU-Namibia Strategic Partnership Roadmap”, expressing the renewed commitment by Namibia and the EU to accelerate green industrialisation, strengthen local value chains, and support inclusive economic growth.
🇧🇪 Consul General Nicolas Fierens Gevaert led the Belgian delegation, which also included the Deputy Trade & Investment Commissioner for Flanders, representatives from Belgian development agency Enabel as well as Belgian companies CMB.TECH, Jan De Nul Group, Port of Antwerp-Bruges International (PoABI), and GADOT Group.
♻️ Enabel is developing specific programs to support Namibia’s green transition through vocational training, port modernisation and low-carbon industrialisation, while both CMB.TECH and PoABI remain major players in Namibia’s green industrialisation with significant projects in the green hydrogen and the sustainable development of the port of Walvis Bay.
