School students are assisted with their given assignments and showing them on how to go about in researching for their assignments. The matriculates are being assisted in search of careers, and applying with CAO. We also tell them about the services that are available to them and that there are free classes available to those who want to learn computer basics. These classes provides the emphasis o
n accelerating change in improving the quality of life for people and provision of opportunities, empowerment and sustainable growth for both the young and the old. The library do try to cater even for those who are far away from the library and can’t access the library by doing block loans. There are numerous services and facilities offered by the library to the community namely:
Books and magazine
There are fiction and non-fiction books offered to the public, these books are for Adult, Young adults as well as Juvenile’s. These books are to be circulated for period of two weeks i.e. 14 days. We also have magazine collection which is selected according to the needs of patrons they also circulate just like normal books. Textbooks and study Guides
Library services provided us with a separate collection of project books which are aimed at assisting school children with their projects and assignments given at school which are very useful. Reference collection
This collection does not circulate it can only be utilized inside the library, we have wide range of reference collection, i.e. dictionaries, encyclopaedias, world books etc. Tertiary textbooks
Library also offer tertiary textbooks which assist students whore are corresponding at various institution, the textbooks covers all the subjects that library patron requires. If however we do not have a particular book there is also a service call special request whereby the library loan material that they do not have at other libraries and depots. Toy collection
Bulwer library is also a toy library, there are numerous toys available to use for both the young and old. Toy library is the courtesy of The Department of Art of Culture library service project. This service promote the use of toys in the community as well as for the children to learn while having fun. There are important in the development of a child because there are educational and involve exploration, experimentation and development of social skills
Cyber café
The café provides free access to the internet and free basic computer training to the community at large and it for everyone. Everybody is welcome to come and be trained for free. There are also facilities for printing, photocopying, scanning and laminating. Challenges
However there are some challenges that we face as the library the main challenge being defaulter, i.e. those patron who borrow book and not return them back to the library. Another challenge is the lack of space for children to play with Toys because the Activity room is being used by the community attending meeting and workshops. At the cybercafé the issue of shortage of computes. With all those challenges we do our best to make sure that all patrons’ information need are met at right time.
