The Breede Valley Municipality (BVM), in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC), wishes to advise the public that the Phelophepa Healthcare Train has departed from De Aar in the Northern Cape and is currently en route to Worcester. The train was initially expected to arrive approximately an hour ago. However, due to a delay in its departure from the Northern Cape, the train will unfortunately not be able to commence its healthcare services tomorrow as originally scheduled.
At this stage, a confirmed estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Worcester has not yet been provided. The Municipality and the Local Organising Committee will continue to monitor the train's progress and will keep the public informed as soon as further information becomes available. For safety reasons, residents who are currently waiting at Worcester Railway Station, as well as those who are on their way to the station, are strongly urged to return home until the train has officially arrived in Worcester.
The Municipality, together with the Local Organising Committee, sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused by the delay and thanks the public for their patience, understanding and continued support. Further updates will be communicated through the Municipality's official communication platforms as soon as they become available.
