The African Christian Democratic Party in the Breede Valley has voiced considerable concern regarding the discontent within the Worcester church community and surrounding areas concerning the Nekkies Easter Music Festival and the Easter market, which are annual events held during the special weekend. Certain church leaders and community members have articulated their dissatisfaction and raised concerns about these two events. A sense of divide and mixed reactions exists regarding the large event at Nekkies and the traditional market, which has been held for many years. There is also discontent regarding the decision-making process for traditional activities that have benefited the congregations and the broader local community.
The ACDP Councillor for the Breede Valley Region, Councillor Tony Manuel, invites those interested to submit their grievances in order that a peaceful solution can be reached along with the municipality and the decision-making body, to work together for the benefit of our community. The Constitution of South Africa on religious freedom Chapter 2 states that everyone has the right to freedom of religion, belief and opinion. Section 9, the equality clause, prohibits unfair discrimination, on various grounds including religion.

Die ACDP in die Breede Vallei streek is diep ontsteld oor die huidige uitwerking van die bek en klouseer op boere en hul vee. Die siekte het tot groot verlies gelei met onopgeloste uitbrake in 8 van die 9 provinsies in die land.
Dit het gelei tot 'n daling in melkproduksie, gewigsverlies by diere, afname in vrugbaarheid en dood van vee.

Die ekonomiese impak is ook groot, met 'n verlies aan internasionale markte as gevolg van uitvoerverbod. Die huidige tariefverhoging vererger tans die situasie, aangesien dit die uitvoermarkwaardes verder beïnvloed.
Die ACDP roep daarom op tot dringende optrede om die siekte te beheer en die boere te ondersteun.

Heritage Day Celebrations. Today the ACDP celebrated this special day with Cllr Tony Manuel and Ward chair, Edward Joseph by serving the community of Victoria Park, Ward 14. ACDP members with shovels and rakes, cleaned a section of the ward that has being in need of cleaning. Community members expressed their sincere gratitude for a job well done. The ACDP will continue to serve its community with passion and dignity.

Youth day celebrations kicked off with great enthusiasm as the community came together to honor and empower the youth in Riverview Flats, Worcester. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who made this day possible, particularly Edward Joseph (event coordinator), Rozane (community leader), Bryan Zotman, Ronnie Apollis, Valley FM, Worcester SAPS, Spartans Volley Ball, Denovan Phillips (Correctional Services), Pieter Visagie (psychologist), Mr. Chris K**k, and the entire Riverview community. Your collective efforts are a shining example of what can be achieved when we work together towards positive change.
