Nala Local Municipality Engages Communities on 2026/2027 IDP and Budget Draft

On 21 May 2026, Honourable Speaker Cllr Molatudi Mothibi, accompanied by Mr Ramantsho, Acting Budget and Revenue Manager; Mr Masisi, Manager in the Mayor’s Office; Mr Mokgase, Acting Manager: Waste, Environment, Parks and Cemeteries; Mr Modisadife, Project Management Unit (PMU) Manager; Mr Hlatywayo, Public Participation Officer in the Speaker’s Office; and Cllr Velembu, Ward 3 Councillor, held public consultations with stakeholders and the community at various venues in Monyakeng, Wesselsbron.

These engagements formed part of the consultation process for the 2026/2027 financial year IDP and Budget Draft.

Mr Ramantsho presented the 2026/2027 IDP and Budget Draft to the community, highlighting key projects, service delivery targets, proposed budgets, revenue, and operational expenditure from the past three financial years. He further touched on grants and subsidies, as well as the proposed tariffs for 2026/2027.

At the conclusion of the presentation, residents were given an opportunity to raise questions, seek clarity, and submit inputs for consideration. Municipal representatives present responded to questions raised and assured residents that matters requiring further clarity would be referred to the relevant officials. Feedback will be provided through community meetings to be held by councillors in their respective wards.

The next consultations will be held in Bothaville and Kgotsong next week.
