Enough is enough. The rate of gender-based violence and violence against women in South Africa cannot be normalized or swept aside.

Every woman has the fundamental right to safety—in her home, in her workplace, and on her streets. Addressing this crisis requires:

Stricter law enforcement and accountability: Swift prosecution for perpetrators without systemic delay.

Community action: Men standing up, calling out toxic behavior, and actively breaking the cycle of violence.

Sustained support: Adequate funding for shelters, crisis lines, and mental health resources for survivors.

We cannot remain silent while our sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends are stolen from us.
