The MEC for Community Safety, Roads and Transport, Hon. Jabu Mbalula, today participated in the handover of 14 ambulances to the Free State Department of Health at Bongani Hospital, reaffirming government’s commitment to improving emergency services and saving lives across the province.

The ambulances will be deployed to Lejweleputswa, Fezile Dabi, and Thabo Mofutsanyana districts to strengthen Emergency Medical Services and ensure that communities have access to timely healthcare when it matters most.

MEC Mbalula welcomed the partnership between government departments, emphasising that collaboration is key to delivering quality services to communities. “Working together across departments is how we turn the Premier’s service delivery directives into tangible results that communities can see and rely on,” he said.

To all road users:

BE SEEN. BE SAFE.
Whether you're walking, cycling, or commuting before sunrise or after sunset, visibility saves lives.
• Wear reflective or bright clothing.
• Use lights and reflectors on your bicycle.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions.
• Motorists should slow down and watch for pedestrians and cyclists, especially in residential areas.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility.

Being visible gives drivers the time they need to see you and react.

Be seen. Be safe. Arrive alive!

Winter got you feeling drained? You are not alone!

Winter fatigue is real. Shorter days, less sunlight, and colder temperatures can mess with your energy, mood, and sleep.

Beat it:
*Move 10 mins: A short walk outside, even on cloudy days, boosts vitamin D and energy.

*Open a window for fresh air, drink a glass of water before coffee, and step outside for 5 minutes of sunlight. Small wins add up.

Take care of yourself this winter. Rest is productive too!

Stay well! Stay safe!
