The Africa Travel Indaba is a strategic platform that connects Free State destinations with international and domestic buyers, and today our exhibitors are doing exactly that. From the early hours, our SMMEs have been in back-to-back appointments, turning conversations into concrete business opportunities.

Our diverse range of exhibitors—from adventure operators and safari game farms to heritage providers and luxury accommodation—are busy packaging and promoting the unique experiences our province offers. These appointments are essential for ensuring the Free State is included in key global tourism itineraries and investment decisions.

By engaging directly with tour operators, travel agents, and investors, these businesses are telling the unique story of our people and destinations. They are proving on the ground that the Free State is not just a place to go through, but a world-class destination to go to.

The Free State delegation continues to forge powerful continental ties at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026. Today, the team held a significant meeting with the Minister of Tourism from Zambia to discuss cross-border collaboration.

The engagement, led by Chairperson Mr. Jack Tladi, Board Member Rev. Thabiso Mashiloane, and Acting CEO Obakeng Seseane, focused on how the two regions can share best practices and create seamless travel experiences for international visitors.

This meeting is a direct reflection of this year’s theme, “Unlimited Africa,” highlighting the Free State's commitment to building a more integrated and prosperous tourism economy through purposeful partnerships.

By reaching out to our neighbors and international stakeholders, we are ensuring that the Free State remains a top-of-mind choice on global itineraries, proving that our province is truly a destination to go to, not just through.

The Free State stand has become a hub of international collaboration today.
Beyond the high-level visit from the Deputy Minister, our leadership team—including Chairperson Mr. Jack Tladi, Board Member Rev. Thabiso Mashiloane, and Acting CEO Obakeng Seseane—has been hard at work engaging with stakeholders from across the globe.

These meetings with various nations and international organizations are a core part of our mission to ensure the Free State is included in global tourism itineraries. By forming new partnerships and strengthening existing ones, we are opening doors for our SMMEs to access wider markets and investment opportunities.

As we embrace the theme of "Unlimited Africa," these cross-border connections prove that when we collaborate, we move closer to our goal: proving that the Free State is not just a place to go through, but a world-class destination to go to.
