The Economic Freedom Fighters Youth Command UFS BFN Branch calls on all Nsfas beneficiaries not to make any payments to landlords in a form of deposit, admin fee and Breakage fees or any for that matter.

If you have already paid contact the accommodation task team convenor or Coordinator in the poster above for assistance.

Nsfas is yet to release guidelines on the modus operandi of private accreditation accommodation, until such a time you are advised not to pay anything.

Today marks exactly day 365 of 365, marking the end of the year 2025.

The Economic Freedom Fighters Youth Command UFS BFN Branch wants to take the moment to thank each and everyone of you, who availed themselves to the movement, who stood with us, who fought with us and most importantly those who supported us, the EFFYC UFS BFN is because you are.

A special thank you to all the interim structures established, the inaugural elected branch leadership, ground forces/fighters and the students who carried the organisation from the beginning of January to the very end. As 2025 comes to an end we are reminded of the words of Thomas Sankara - "We must dare to invent the future"

The struggle and fight against the System is far from over, it continues, and requires resilience, courage, bravery and intelligence from each and everyone of us, all in the name of free quantity decolonized education in our lifetime.

The Economic Freedom Fighters Youth Command UFS BFN Branch warns students of the University of the Free State including the incoming first years that No student must pay admin fee or deposit, as per the terms and conditions of the Housing and residence affairs, while the terms and conditions are still being finalized, the only fee that students should be paying to landlords is the Breakage fee, which in our view and stance should not exceed half of the rent payable.

We are aware of the bogus landlords who are using Breakage fee as a disguise to charge exorbitant amount that students cannot afford, we condemn this behavior and encourage students to report such landlords to: [email protected] or contact the accommodation task team above.
