DELAYED POST || FOR THE LOVE OF SPORTS

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality (WMMLM) was part of a special send-off prayer service together with football stakeholders, community leaders and supporters in Bizana yesterday, 27 May 2026 to bless and encourage FC Ravens ahead of their national tournament.

The event, organised by various stakeholders brought the town to a standstill in show of unity behind the team that will represent Mbizana on National play-offs in Mthatha. In her speech, Her Worship, the Mayor Cllr TD Mafumbatha praised the players’ hard work and dedication. “We pray for their safety, focus and success as they compete against the elite.

DELAYED POST || ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS

On 27 May 2026, Winnie Madikizela‑Mandela Local Municipality (WMMLM) together with various government and community stakeholders conducted a Waste Management Committee Meeting at the Mbizana Council Chamber in Ward 01.

The purpose of this meeting is to educate on effective waste management practices, promote environmental responsibility and encourage active participation in keeping the Mbizana clean.

PRE-SCHOOL INITIATIVE || SHAPING TODAY FOR TOMORROW

On the 27 May 2026, Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality (WMMLM) held a handover providing educational support material at Lungile Pre-School in Mdikisweni village, Ward 11 in Bizana.

The purpose of this event is to support early childhood education and create a suitable environment for young children to learn and play. The municipality donated with various items to assist with learning and skills including crayons, paints, paint brushes, reading books, mattresses, toy cars, dolls and other educational and play material.

Parents, teachers and the Mdikisweni community warmly welcomed the support by the Municipality, saying it would help improve their children’s future and make learning easier for them from an early age.

Mrs Nocuze from Lungile Pre-School also expressed her gratitude to the municipality for showing care and support towards the education of children in their local community.
