Today, the Executive Mayor of Dihlabeng Local Municipality, Cllr Tseki Tseki, together with the Municipal Manager Mr. Mohau Ntheli, the Director of Technical Services Mrs. Lungile Mokoteli, the Director of Community Services Mrs. Thokozile Vanqa and Technician Mr. Mxolisi Reginald Radebe conducted an oversight inspection in De Villiers Street and Commissioner Street. The inspection was followed by the official handover of the completed road rehabilitation project covering Baartman Street and La Provence, stretching approximately 5.4 kilometres. The project was successfully completed by the Municipality through internal funding.
During the handover, the Executive Mayor expressed appreciation to the community for their patience and cooperation throughout the resurfacing process. He stated that the Municipality is handing over roads that are in a much better state and have been significantly improved for the benefit of all road users. The Mayor further announced that the Municipality's immediate focus will now be on Thejane street (in Bohlokong), where 1.5 kilometres of road will be rehabilitated, and President Boshoff street (in Bethlehem), which will also receive 1.5 kilometres of road rehabilitation. Both of these upcoming projects will also be implemented through internal funding. In addition, resealing works will be undertaken in Bakenpark, including Medican Street and several other streets in the area, which will be funded through the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG).
In conclusion, Dihlabeng Local Municipality reaffirms its commitment to accelerating service delivery and improving road infrastructure across all its towns. The successful completion of the Baartman Street and La Provence project is a clear demonstration of the Municipality's dedication to building safer, more accessible and sustainable roads for its communities.
