WATTVILLE YOUTH TALKS MISINFORMATION

The DH Mabuya Branch has noted with concern the recent spate of commentaries and posts on the “Wattville Youth Talks” social media page regarding the African National Congress and its candidate selection processes.

As the legitimate and duly constituted structure of the ANC in Ward 30, we are compelled to address our community directly to set the record straight and prevent any unnecessary confusion.

Firstly, we wish to dismiss outright a recent post featuring a gentleman being falsely presented as an ANC candidate for Ward 21. We do not know the origin of this post, but we can confirm that no such candidate has been presented by the ANC structures in this region of Ekurhuleni or Diza Putini zone. This is a clear example of misinformation designed to mislead the public.

Secondly, and most importantly, we want to state categorically to the residents of Ward 30 that Cllr. Kenny Ranyawa remains our duly appointed and recognized deployee. As we approach the local government elections, for which no official date has yet been issued, we want the community to know that the ANC follows a thorough, rigorous, and democratic process to select its candidates. When that process is complete, we will present a candidate to the people of Ward 30 through the proper channels.

The ANC is a broad church, and we pride ourselves on being a non-sexist and non-racial movement. We value the robust engagement with our communities. However, we must plead with our people not to believe everything they read about the ANC on social media platforms. Unless a statement or post is issued directly by this branch it should be treated with the utmost suspicion.

We acknowledge and respect the constitutional right to freedom of speech. It is a right we fought hard for. However, with this right comes responsibility.

We therefore make a direct plea to the administrators of the WATTVILLE YOUTH TALKS page:

We ask that you desist from venturing into political commentary that causes confusion and sows division within our community. Your page has the potential to be a powerful tool for community building and information distribution. We plead with you to return to that original purpose and keep the page free from misleading political narratives that do not serve the interests of our people.

The DH Mabuya Branch remains committed to serving the people of Wattville and Ward 30. We will continue to communicate with our community directly and transparently as we prepare for the upcoming elections.

ANC DH Mabuya Branch 2026 School Opening at Etwatwa Secondary School and Kgothalang Primary School.

The African National Congress DH Mabuya Branch marks the commencement of the 2026 academic year by reaffirming our unwavering commitment to accessible, quality, and dignified education for all. Our branch leadership, alongside the ANC Youth League, undertook a proactive oversight visit to both Etwatwa Secondary School and Kgothalang Primary School on the official first day of school.

Etwatwa Secondary School:
Our engagement with Principal Mr. Makhoba, educators, learners, and parents was constructive and insightful. We witnessed firsthand the eagerness of our youth to learn and the dedication of our educators to teach. However, we also observed the very real challenges faced by our community: late applications, administrative transfers, and the pressing issue of learners without proper school uniform due to socioeconomic hardships.

The ANC is not a spectator. We are an active participant in the development of our communities. On this day, our cadres were on the ground, assisting community members with these very administrative hurdles, ensuring that no child is unjustly turned away from the gates of learning.

We note with concern reports of tensions between learners and community structures (Wardens and CPF). We call for calm and dialogue. The ANC DH Mabuya Branch stands ready to facilitate discussions to strengthen the vital partnership between schools, learners, and community safety forums, ensuring a secure and conducive learning environment.

As we move forward, we issue a call to action:

· To Parents and Guardians: Partner with us. We strongly encourage monitoring school uniform compliance at home. A uniform is a symbol of equality, discipline, and readiness to learn.
· To the Community: Let us unite to support our schools. Education is a societal priority.
· To the Learners of Etwatwa, especially the Class of 2026: We believe in you. The ANC wishes you a productive, disciplined, and successful academic year. Your future is the future of our nation.

The ANC DH Mabuya Branch remains steadfast in its mission to build better communities through education and active, servant leadership. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide support where needed.

Education for Liberation!

On behalf of the DH Mabuya Branch, and together with a nation that owes you its freedom, we extend our warmest, revolutionary birthday wishes to the African National Congress its 114th birthday. For over a century, the ANC has been the unwavering liberation movement of the people, the shield and spear of the oppressed, and the architect of our democratic dawn. We honour the sacrifices of generations who fought under the banner and celebrate the enduring spirit of unity and resilience that defines the organisation.

It is true that this has been a difficult season, a period of reflection and challenge. Yet, the history of the ANC is a testament to an unbreakable capacity to overcome. We have faced formidable trials before and emerged stronger, more focused, and more deeply rooted in the people. As many comrades travel to the North West to celebrate this milestone, we urge you to travel safely and celebrate responsibly, embodying the discipline that has always been our strength. The ANC was, is, and remains the only true party of the people, and we stand firm in the belief that the ANC will navigate this season and continue to lead the charge for a better life for all.
