Good evening bahlali,

Earlier today, Clr Ranyawa welcomed the Legislature Oversight Committee at Wattville Youth Centre in Benoni for a crucial public meeting on the Social Development Department’s Budget Vote for 2026/27.

Chaired by Hon Dr Tlou Chokoe, the session included the budget presentation and responses to follow-up questions.

Protecting democracy. Serving Gauteng.

Good day Bahlali,

I want to say thank you to all of you who came to the public meeting on 23 May 2026 at Buso Park. Thank you for making your voices heard.

Even though the meeting did not end as we hoped, it was still a success. The Department now knows how we, the people of Wattville, truly feel.

As I promised you, we have officially registered our dissatisfaction about how the program ended. We have also asked the Department to help us with the verification process for housing applications.

The Department has heard us and agreed to help. We are now waiting for them to give us a new date. On that day, we will invite you back to complete the verification.

Please bear with us during this time. For those who are able and have the means, you can go to any Customer Care Centre (CCC) in Ekurhuleni to verify your application there.

Regards,
Clr Kenny Ranyawa

Good evening bahlali,

After a lot of frustration and pressure from the ward councillor because the community complained, the grass at Wattville stadium has finally been cut.
We also noticed that the field is still not in good condition, and the toilets are still not working.

It’s one thing to fix the stadium and cut the grass, but it’s another thing to be allowed to use the facility. One of the biggest problems is that the community cannot easily access the stadium.
We will keep talking to the department and SAFA to find a workable solution so the community can use the stadium.

Regards,
Clr Kenny Ranyawa

Good evening bahlali,

You are cordially invited to a very important Public Meeting regarding Human Settlements in our community.

· Date: Saturday, 23 May 2026
· Time: 10h00
· Venue: Buso Park (Corner of Sesedi and Dube Streets), Wattville

Who will be there?

· MEC Tasneem Motara (Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements)
· MMC Nsizwa Mekgwe (Ekurhuleni MMC for Human Settlements)

Why is this meeting important?
This is your chance to raise and discuss all Human Settlement related issues affecting you. The agenda includes:

1. Opening & welcome
2. Introductions
3. Purpose of the meeting:
· 96 Form C queries
· Title Deeds (ownership documents)
· Beneficiary allocations (who qualifies for housing)
· Unfinished projects (housing projects that have stalled)
4. Discussion
5. Announcements
6. Closure

After the meeting, from around 12h00, there will be dedicated assistance for residents to check on the status of their housing applications. Please bring:

· Your ID document (or a copy)
· Proof of housing application (if you have applied before)

Bahlali this is your opportunity to speak directly with the leaders who make decisions about housing in our city and province. If you have been waiting for a title deed, if your application seems stuck, if you do not understand the 96 Form C process, or if you see unfinished projects in our area – this meeting is for you.

Your attendance and participation will be highly appreciated. The more of us who come, the stronger our voice. Bring your neighbours, family members, and anyone who has a housing question or concern. Get answers directly from top government officials. Do not wait for someone else to speak on your behalf. This is your chance to stand up, ask questions, and get the information you need. Housing issues affect all of us.

If you have any questions before the meeting, please contact me directly:

Cllr. K. Ranyawa
Ward Councillor
072 778 6655

See you there!

Good day bahlali,

Today, we speak from our hearts to all mothers: we wish you a blessed and beautiful Mother's Day. You are the reason we are who we are, every good thing in us started with you. Our communities stand strong because of your love, your sweat, your tears, and your endless care. You hold us together when things fall apart.

We have seen your powerful impact right here in Wattville, especially you, our beloved Izimbokodo, the rock-solid women who carry so much on your shoulders. Thank you for everything you do, often without thanks. Please know you are seen, treasured, and loved. Happy Mother's Day. May your day be as gentle and special as you are to us.

With warmth and gratitude,
Clr Kenny Ranyawa

Good day bahlali,

We are continuing with grass cutting as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure consistent service delivery.

We acknowledge that some streetlights have been out for months due to pole vandalism. We are working closely with the relevant department to explore alternative ways of protecting our infrastructure.

Good Day, Bahlali.

We are aware of the electricity outages affecting Central, CPZ, and Silvertown since early this morning. Eskom has been on site since around 11:00 and has now located the fault.

We kindly ask that you avoid going near the substations where the technicians are working, as some of them feel intimidated. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated. We trust that electricity will be restored soon, and we apologise for the inconvenience, especially on this cold day.

Regards,
Clr Kenny Ranyawa

Good afternoon bahlali

As previously reported, challenges are many and others unplanned. The roads department as we have been experiencing winter rains, is attending to some potholes in our ward which some have been long reported

We are told the material is limited but we'll push them to cover as much as they can in different areas.

Ours is to be at services, other challenges we are able to resolve quickly and others take time due to matters not being in our control

But as always we appreciate the working relationship with you bahlali

Regards
Clr Kenny Ranyawa
