The Western Cape Liquor Authority has received reports from individuals who have been contacted via WhatsApp/SMS by someone claiming to know the status of their liquor licence application and requesting payments.

Please be advised that the Western Cape Liquor Authority does not request payments or sensitive information through WhatsApp/SMS or unofficial channels.

If you receive suspicious messages claiming to have inside knowledge of your application process, licence status and renewal please do not engage and report the matter immediately.
