Gugulethu Youth Empowered with Skills and Learnership Opportunities – Today, 5 September 2026, the Gugulethu Community Hall (also widely localized as the Gugulethu Civic Hall) became a hub of opportunity and hope as it played host to a vital youth development partnership programme. The impactful event was organized through a collaborative effort between the Office of the Deputy Minister in the Presidency Ms Nonceba Mhlauli, represented by Mr Masibulele Tolofwne and Training Force, a leading skills development and training provider.Training force was represented by Nondumiso Madikwne, Mogammad Abrahams, Sinovuyo Gxalaba and Mphuneso Dyantyi.Approximately 100 young people from the local community and surrounding areas attended the outreach initiative, all eager to access pathways aimed at breaking the cycle of unemployment.The primary objective of the partnership programme was to connect local youth directly with available accredited training opportunities, skills development programmes, and fully-funded learnerships. During the session, representatives shared crucial information regarding career pathways and details on how young people can apply for structured workplace learning initiatives that offer formal NQF qualifications and crucial monthly stipends.A representative from Training Force highlighted the life-changing impact of these initiatives, noting that bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience is essential to unlocking the potential of the country's youth. Attendees expressed deep gratitude for government and private entities bringing these resources directly into the heart of Gugulethu, making information accessible without the burden of long-distance travel.The success of today's event underscores the government's ongoing commitment to massifying youth employment initiatives and public-private partnerships to build a capable, self-reliant generation.
