IITM was the Implementing Agency Lead for IISF 2025 (on behalf of MoES)

Inaugurated by Hon'ble MoS (I/C), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh, IISF 2025 marked a historic moment for India’s scientific community.

The festival created a dynamic space for students to engage directly with leading scientists and innovators from MoES, CSIR, DBT, DST, DAE, and ISRO — bringing the full spectrum of India’s scientific strength under one roof.

IISF 2025 was envisioned to bring science closer to young minds in a meaningful, transformative way. As the implementing agency, IITM with its partners worked to ensure that this vision became a lived experience — one that could genuinely inspire, encourage creativity, and open new horizons.

If IISF 25 has succeeded in igniting even a single spark of curiosity — a fresh question, an unexplored idea, or the courage to dream bigger — then every effort by the organisers, mentors, volunteers, and institutions has found its purpose.

History often begins with such small sparks. If one of these young minds goes on to make a contribution of global significance — perhaps even bringing home a future Nobel Prize for India — it will stand as a quiet yet powerful testament to the collective vision behind this festival.

My hope is that the inspiration generated here does not end with IISF 2025, but continues to grow — shaping a generation that thinks critically, questions boldly, and innovates with confidence for the country and the world.

During Valedictory Ceremony of IISF, today, Dr. Suryachandra A. Rao, Director, IITM (IITM implemented IISF 25, on behalf of MoES)
presented the Brief Report of IISF 2025, offering sharp insights into the scientific achievements, outreach, and nationwide impact created throughout the festival. His report served as the intellectual anchor of the closing ceremony, summarising the scale, innovation, and public engagement that defined IISF 2025.

delivered the Vote of Thanks, at the gracefully acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, organizers, volunteers, and partners. His closing remarks provided a thoughtful, dignified conclusion to the festival, capturing both the collaborative spirit and the scientific optimism of IISF 2025.

The Blue Economy session at IISF 2025 brought together experts to discuss oceans, poles, earth systems, and ecology under the theme Sagarika: The Tale of Earth Sciences.

The panel highlighted India’s growing focus on sustainable ocean resources, marine research, and environmental stewardship.

With diverse perspectives and engaging discussions, the session showcased the Ministry of Earth Sciences Government of India’ commitment to advancing knowledge, innovation, and resilience in the Blue Economy sector.
