More than 1,000 seedlings took root in Barangay Mabuhay as GSCWD employees and partner stakeholders came together on August 28, 2026, turning a one-hectare adopted area into a shared commitment to protect the environment and help secure a greener future for General Santos City.
The 1,111-seedling Tree-Growing Activity brought together GSCWD, the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), DENR-CENRO, Hilltop Fruits and Forest Association, Inc., and other stakeholders in commemorating three milestones—the 39th Founding Anniversary of GSCWD, the 52nd Anniversary of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD), and the inauguration of the DBP Forest Program in Barangay Mabuhay.
Held in Purok 7, Barangay Mabuhay, the activity strengthened collaborative efforts toward forest rehabilitation, watershed protection, and environmental conservation.
For GSCWD and its partners, the activity went beyond planting trees—it was a collective investment in the environment and in the communities that depend on sustainable water resources.
GSCWD extends its appreciation to all partners and participants for their support and active involvement in making the initiative possible.
