Great news for Louisiana & wildlife. As of August 1st balloon releases will be illegal. Why are balloon releases so bad for our wildlife? Because what goes up must come down.

The Ferocious Five plus one gained their freedom today. No doubt they will wreck havoc on unsuspecting wildlife. Still, they were fun to rehab when I wasn’t getting bit.

When I had my outdoor enclosure built I figured it would mostly be for raccoons. With that in mind I purchased a swing because raccoons are so playful. Little did I know that I’d be blessed to have 3 foxes to rehab in my enclosure. This morning I found the youngest fox, Ash, chilling in the swing. He’s pretty dang cute!

BEST DAY EVER!
I thought yesterday couldn’t be topped but I was quite wrong. Today has been incredible! New intakes: baby armadillo (first ever; so freaking excited but he’s very dehydrated), female raccoon who will live with the male after quarantine, spiciest opossum ever (she smelled so bad from purposely pooping on herself that I had to bathe her immediately) and an injured box turtle. Life is good!
