The Free Yard Waste Collection Program begins on Monday, Nov. 2, along with the second cycle of the Bulk Curbside Leaf Collection Program. This , we’re talking about these two leaf disposal programs. Question: What is the difference between the two programs?
Answer: Both programs are free and convenient ways to dispose of fallen leaves. During bulk curbside leaf collection, loose leaves are placed into the street next to the curb for crews to collect. Only leaves are permitted in the piles. Leaves are collected in front of each home once per two-week cycle, with the last cycle ending on Nov. 25 (pending weather and unexpected circumstances).
The Bulk Curbside Leaf Collection Program only accepts leaves. Yard waste, such as twigs or grass, should not be included with the leaf piles. Instead, dispose of yard waste through the Free Yard Waste Collection Program.
The Free Bagged Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Program begins on Nov. 2 and continues through Dec. 11. During this time, leaves and other yard waste can be placed in yard waste bags, carts or cans without a yard waste sticker. Residents place the yard waste at the curb on their normal trash collection day.
As the name implies, bulk leaf collection is best when you have a lot of leaves to remove at once. If you have remaining leaves to remove after bulk collection ends, or if you want to dispose of other yard waste for free in addition to leaves, participate in the Free Yard Waste Collection Program. You can use BOTH programs to maximize your leaf disposal! For details, visit https://www.naperville.il.us/338/Leaf-Collection

🚧 Naperville Construction Update: Tall Grass Neighborhood 🚧

As early as 6am on Monday, October 26, crews will begin installing a 54-inch water main in the Tall Grass neighborhood. This work requires a temporary closure of Tall Grass Drive just north of Mistflower Lane.

While the full closure will only last a few days, work in this area is anticipated to last for several weeks.

Residents should not experience any water service interruptions. As work progresses, you may notice increased traffic, construction noise, dust, and occasional vibrations during pipe installation.
