Over the weekend, Joshua who is leading Etch Empathy’s e-accessibility training and consultancy division, conducted a workshop for 11 visually impaired. This is very impactful as it’s a blind leading the blind workshop however the participants did not just follow blindly. They learn with much enthusiasm.

Over 2 weekends and 5 recipes, with 16 VI trainees - we finally managed to bring our baking curriculum to life! 🥞🥔 The core team consists of 2 VI chefs that planned all recipes from scratch making it VI friendly, 2 program operations that helped ensure everything runs smoothly, and our group of NTU volunteers that made all this possible 🔥 And not to forget - our kind donors that donated ovens that served as a timely Christmas gift for all our VI trainees! All of them managed to bring one oven home each all thanks to your generosity ❤ This helps the VI to apply what they learnt in class back at home - concretizing & moving us one step closer towards independent living!

Singapore Silent Heroes is a ground-up movement to uncover and discover ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Tonight is the Singapore Silent Heroes Awards Ceremony where we will be announcing the 5 Silent Heroes winners for these award categories: Compassionate Foreigner, Hearts of Humanity, Inspiring Youth, Outstanding Adult and Pioneers of Promise.

The awards ceremony will be live-streamed via Singapore Silent Heroes and The Royal Singapore (Official Media Partner) page later at 7.30pm.

Of which, Etch Empathy is a non-profit that provides skills development workshops for the visually impaired in the areas of handicrafts and culinary skills for independent living. Etch Empathy also provides community leadership training for youths, developing their community leadership skills and empowering them to create the impact needed to make the world a better place.
