Amazing trail rescue in Columbia River Gorge for White Salmon Medic. Special thanks for the help from Klickitat County Search and Rescue, Fire Dist 3 and Bingen Fire Dept for a successful treatment, care and expeditious extrication of an injured hiker 2 miles in from the trailhead.

Spring is right around the corner! As the weather gets nicer we'll see more and more motorcycles on the roads. It takes both parties to ride safe. Motorcyclists please ride cautiously especially with sand on the corner from winter. Other motor vehicles please look twice as motorcycles can be hard to see at times and blend in with the background.
We all have friends or family that ride, and want to see them all come home safely!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

You’re Paramedic’s and EMT’s of KCEMS1 want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. As we all celebrate the holiday season, I think it’s important to reflect on the previous year and all that we have faced together. This past year has brought many changes to our agency and many challenges to be faced. Through them all we have acted more akin to a family unit than a group of work colleagues. We’ve kept each other motivated and moving forward towards our common goal of an improved EMS system and workplace. I could not be more proud of the EMT’s and Paramedics I work with and the amazing support we have received from our community and fellow first responders. As many of you are aware, this election season we moved to pass a levy increase that would allow us to continue providing Advanced Life Support level care to the citizens of Klickitat County. This was a crucial measure to pass, as without it we would not have been able to continue providing an EMS service to our community. I could not feel more blessed and thankful for the citizens of Klickitat County. The amount of support and outpouring of good will and donations truly left us all awestruck. The measure passed with overwhelming support and I could not be more thankful to everyone who voted yes and gave us not only your vote, but your confidence as well. I promise you moving forward, we will not disappoint you and we will without fail continue to provide the level of that you all expect and deserve.

So from me to all of you and to cut my Christmas rambling short, take a moment to hug your family, eat some pie, open some presents and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years.
