⚠️ Health Alert - Smoky Conditions

Fires burning in Greater Darwin have led to smoky conditions that can affect your health.

These are some common reactions people may experience from heavy smoke:
⚠️ Itchy or burning eyes
⚠️ Sore throat
⚠️ Runny nose
⚠️ Coughing

They can be managed by avoiding prolonged periods outdoors.

Heavy smoke conditions can be dangerous for people with lung and heart conditions. If you have a respiratory condition or illness, you should:
✔️ Avoid physical outdoor activity
✔️ Stay indoors with windows and doors closed
✔️ If using air-con, set it to recirculate
✔️ Follow your asthma action plan and seek immediate medical care if needed
✔️ Call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency

If you are concerned about the air quality around your area, NT Health recommends using the AirRater app. The app allows you to monitor air quality at your location and provides information on bushfires and planned burns.

For bushfire alerts and warnings visit https://vist.ly/53aum.
