From a simple backyard experiment to an award-winning agribusiness enterprise, Bibarโ€™s Farm in Barangay San Pablo, Tabon-tabon, Leyte demonstrates how innovation and perseverance can transform a small initiative into a model MSME.

Established in 2010 by Hercito โ€œTorโ€ Bibar, the farm began when the former media professional decided to venture into agriculture to gain greater control of his time while exploring sustainable livelihood opportunities. What started as a small project eventually grew into a two-hectare integrated and diversified farming system, now classified as a small agribusiness enterprise.

RTWPB VIII joins the Joint High Visibility High Impact Inspection in the Construction Industry. The series of inspections headed by DOLE field offices aims to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in monitoring compliance with labor standards, occupational safety and health standards, social legislation, and other rules and regulations governing the construction industry.

On June 15, 2026, the first inspection was conducted in a construction site located at Bypass Road, Tacloban City. DOLE Regional Director and RTWPB Chairperson Atty. Dax B. Villaruel joined the inspection.

Atty. Kaye Barreda-Campo of RTWPB VIII joined the inspection team to share updates on the minimum wage rates to the employer/contractor. She also encouraged the management to seek technical assistance in case there is a perceived wage distortion brought about by the recent effectivity of the P18-peso second tranche wage increase.
