Community Independent School District Community ISD has served the students and families in southeast Collin County since 1947. The District was named the Community Rural High School.

On July 28, 1947, the County School Trustees of Collin County passed an order grouping the Josephine ISD, Nevada School District, Lavon School District, Millwood School District, Mt. Piscah School District, and McMinn School District for the purpose of establishing and operating a rural high school. There were nine graduates in the inaugural class of 1948. By 2021, the Community Independent School District has grown to over 3,350 students and serves four communities: Copeville, Josephine, Lavon and Nevada. The school colors are Royal Blue and Gold. Congrats to the Community Lady Braves Volleyball program on a clean sweep at Sherman! All three CHS teams earned dominant victories over the Lady Bearcats.

Plus, we need to brag on our Edge Middle School and Community Trails Middle School volleyball teams, which have won 23 of the last 24 games over the past three weeks. Great things are happening in Brave Nation! 🏐
