It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve Senate District 22 for nearly eight years, a place I have called my home for over 25 years. I’m proud to share that I have earned the endorsement of the California Democratic Party for my re-election this year.

At a time when our nation and our communities are facing serious challenges, now more than ever, it’s critical that our voices are heard and that we continue fighting for working families, public safety, economic opportunity, and dignity for all.

I’m ready to keep doing the work in Sacramento and to continue this fight in the June and November elections. Let’s move forward — together.

CADEM 2026! #2026

Today, Alex Jeffrey Pretti — a U.S. citizen and ICU nurse — was shot and killed during a federal operation in Minneapolis, adding another life to a disturbing pattern of violence by federal agents.

Just weeks ago, we mourned the death of Renée Good, a mother whose life was taken by an ICE officer. And most recently, the heartbreaking images of a five-year-old little boy taken by agents have broken the hearts of millions.

I joined my community in the San Gabriel Valley to raise our voices against these injustices and the killings of innocent people.

These are not isolated incidents — they are part of a disturbing pattern of fear-based tactics and escalating violence that is ripping families apart, traumatizing children, and turning communities into zones of fear.

This is unacceptable. The federal government is operating without accountability while lives are being lost. This is not justice. This is not public safety. This is a failure of leadership.

California stands in solidarity with Minneapolis, all Minnesotans who are grieving and angry, and families across this country demanding answers.

Our federal representatives must step up now. Silence is complicity. No one — including federal agents — is above the law. Oversight, accountability, and immediate action are required before more families are destroyed and more lives are lost.

Today was a powerful movement. All across our country, communities came together to stand up and defend our democracy. We saw families, students, and elders marching side by side peacefully, united, and strong. I saw several of my communities, San Dimas, Ontario, Covina, and more, come out and support each other. It was amazing to stop by and make sure we feel empowered, because in this country, we don’t bow to kings or dictators — we stand for the people, by the people. ✊🏽

My father came to this country as a Bracero farm worker—his sleepless nights, callused hands, and quiet sacrifices are etched into my memory. Knowing that César Chávez stood up for the dignity and rights of workers like my father makes this day deeply personal.

Serving in the California Legislature, daughters of a farm worker, my sister and I are proof of what’s possible when given the opportunity, and we carry both the legacy and the responsibility to keep fighting for our farm workers. I look forward to continuing to serve my communities on my next term in the Senate!

“California has some of the highest numbers of reported human trafficking cases in the nation and tragically, children make up a majority of these victims. This is why I am a proud Joint Author of SB 1414, alongside my colleagues Senator Grove and Senator Caballero. We must protect our children and send a clear message that the exploitation of children for s*x is a despicable crime that demands severe consequences.”

Senator Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) introduced a new bill that targets buyers of s*x-trafficking with two democrats as co-sponsors.

Thank you to for the opportunity to speak to voters and interviewing us candidates about pressing issues in our communities. I have been a part of the San Gabriel Valley community for over 20 years, championing our values and needs as a teacher, city council member, and state senator.
I'm running for Congress in California's 31st district to keep fighting for what matters most to us: improving affordability, reducing homelessness, protecting our families and children, ensuring quality education, and tackling climate change.
