Acts of community are not acts of conspiracy. The protest at the ICE office last June was community in action – using our First Amendment freedoms to speak out against ICE’s illegal abductions and for our immigrant neighbors, grounded in principles of nonviolent action, solidarity, and community care.

This case has always been about more than individual defendants. It reflects growing attempts by the MAGA regime to criminalize protest and action in defense of immigrant communities.

We continue to stand firmly in solidarity with the Spokane 3.

The defendants could face up to six years in federal prison and/or $250,000 in fines. They are expected to appeal the verdict.

In the year since we helped pass Rent Stabilization through Washington state Legislature, the vital need for it has only become more clear. Strom Peterson is right; sky-high prices of gas and other essentials caused by Trump's illegal tariffs and wars would be crushing families even more if we hadn't passed relief from price-gouging by landlords who are unscrupulous.

Seattle's Social Housing Dept. has acquired their first building, creating 60 units of affordable homes and freezing rents for all tenants for two years.

We're proud to have recommended Prop 1A in our Progressive Voters Guide last year to fund this, and grateful to the organizers, activists, and voters who made this possible by passing it!
