June 27, 2025 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in collaboration with the Negosyo Center Sevilla and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sevilla, successfully conducted a seminar titled “Online Platforms and Digital Payments Onboarding” for the invited (MSMEs) of Sevilla, Bohol.

This activity was part of the ongoing efforts to empower local entrepreneurs and help them stay competitive in the rapidly evolving digital economy. The seminar aimed to encourage MSMEs to embrace the use of modern technology—specifically online platforms and digital payment systems—as essential tools for business growth, efficiency, and sustainability.

Throughout the session, participants were guided on how to effectively utilize various social media platforms for marketing, and how to integrate secure and convenient digital payment methods such as GCash and Maya into their business operations. They were also reminded of the benefits of e-commerce, including wider market reach, 24/7 business availability, reduced operational costs, and improved customer satisfaction.

The event concluded with an open forum where MSMEs had the chance to raise concerns and share experiences, further enriching their learning and fostering a sense of community and innovation among local business owners.
