🇺🇸🗳️Absentee ballots began mailing on Tuesday, October 6th. If you submitted a request for a ballot to be mailed to you, it went in the mail that day. We will continue to mail ballots daily for new requests received each day until the deadline of October 27th. In the last two days, over 570,000 ballots went into the postal system all over Ohio. This huge influx can cause the delivery time to be a little longer than usual. Please be patient and give the postal system time to get these delivered. Check the status of your request here.

Absentee Voting Information:

The Secretary of State's office is sending an absentee ballot to every registered voter in Ohio. Some of you have already started to receive them. THIS IS NOT A BALLOT. This is an application that would need to be filled out and sent back to our office IF you want to vote by mail. This is not mandatory. If you DO NOT want to vote by mail, simply throw the application away.

If you have already submitted your application and you receive additional applications in the mail from other special interest groups, simply throw them away.

If you have already submitted an absentee request, no further action is needed. Regardless of how many applications you send, we can only send you one ballot.

The Secretary of State does not send these out every election.

Please hold off on calling our office to request absentee applications. Please use the applications you will receive in the mail. This saves our county money when the state send the applications to all registered voters.

If you don’t receive your application by September 25, call our office and we will be happy to mail you one.

Applications can be accepted until the end of the day on October 27th.

Absentee BALLOTS will not start sending out until October 6th.

PLEASE SHARE:
Many civic organizations are beginning to mail their absentee applications.

We have received many phone calls asking about the legitimacy of mail and whether it is from the Secretary of State. The SOS has *not yet* mailed absentee applications to registered voters.

We encourage you to look in the upper left corner to determine the source of the mailing, and remind you to look for the *official Election Mail flag* on mailings (pictured below). Items sent directly from the Board of Elections or SOS will display this official mail flag.

Many voters prefer to submit the SOS application. However, it will not make a difference if you choose to submit the 3rd party absentee application instead.

As a reminder, ballots will not be sent until after October 6, 2026.

🇺🇸 Our office has received calls about a mailing from "Ready to Register, Inc." We understand that this has been mailed to deceased voters. Our office does not send mass mailings. This mailing was not sent by our office. Mailings sent by special interest groups such as "Ready to Register, Inc." use voter rolls that are outdated, which causes confusion, unnecessary phone calls, and extra work for boards of elections. If you would like to verify that you are registered in Perry County for the upcoming election, please go to our website at https://lookup.boe.ohio.gov/vtrapp/perry/vtrlookup.aspx #. 🇺🇸
