🚨Water Quality Update🚨
NEW UPDATE August: Further testing has found no unsafe levels of bacteria and the no swimming signs have been taken down.

You will have seen signs from Kilkenny County Council at the Weir forbidding swimming due to bacteria in the water. Kilkenny County Council have not shared date of testing or type and concentration of bacteria.
The water may since have cleared, and if you are a regular year round swimmer you have likely been in water of poor quality in the past.
Our policy is that the public are entitled to swim at the Weir Pool at your own risk and if you wish to continue swimming, that is an individual choice for each person.
We will bring you updated water quality info as soon as we can.
