PRESS STATEMENT

LABARAN MAKU STILL IN THE RACE FOR NASARAWA GOVERNORSHIP TICKET

It has come to the attention of our party - All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) - of fake news trending in the social media that our governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has stepped down for the PDP candidate.

We wish to state unequivocally that there is no iota of truth whatsoever in the report. It is the handiwork of political detractors, turncoats and desperadoes bent on misleading the people and blackmailing our candidate who has endeared himself to them.

There was never a time Labaran Maku contemplated stepping down, when in actual fact his popularity has continued to soar, particularly after his endorsement by Eggons Worldwide.

What happened was that PDP afraid of defeat staring them in the face forged the headed paper of Labaran Maku with which they issued a fake press statement circulating in the social media that he backed out of the race.

We have implicit confidence in the capacity of Labaran Maku to defeat both the PDP and APC candidates in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

We commend the Eggon people all over the world for endorsing Labaran Maku as their candidate, while advising the PDP candidate to step down for him instead of promoting hatred, falsehood, and malicious propaganda.

We urge the good people of Nasarawa State, irrespective of religion, tribe or culture, to rally round Labaran Maku in order to liberate them from the misgovernance and maladministration that had been their lot in the past seven and half years.

It is our wish and desire to see the emergence of a new administration under the leadership of Labaran Maku to give the people of Nasarawa State a focused, transparent and people-oriented leadership devoid of schism, intimidation, killings and hate that have left the people deeply traumatized.

The people of Nasarawa have this great choice to make - to work in conjuction with Labaran Maku - to build a new state where peace, development, justice and equality will reign supreme.

APGA WINS 3 OUT OF 7 HOUSE OF REPS SEATS IN BENUE

APGA has won three House of Representatives' seats in Benue as follows:
1.Dr.Blessing Onuh (Otukpo/Ohimini,85,372 votes).
2. Hon.Heman Hembe (Konshisha/Vandekya, 35,000 votes).
3.Evan David Ogewu
(Oju/Obi) beat her rival by over 8000 votes.

As we countdown to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections,

We wish to remind Nigerians that our great party has demonstrated capacity for good governance in Anambra and we seek to replicate this feat across Nigeria.

Ours is a truly progressive party with a vision to build an egalitarian society where "Everyone will be their brother's keeper" to ensure inclusive growth and development in all spheres of national life.

We have gone round the nooks and crannies of Nigeria canvassing for votes, and the massive turn out at all our rallies bears eloquent testimony to the fact that APGA is now generally acceptable as the only credible alternative in Nigeria today.

APGA NEW YEAR MESSSAGE

The National Chairman of All the Progressives Grand Aalliance (APGA), Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, has said that the incoming year will bring in abundance wealth and health for all Nigerians.

In his new year message released in Abuja today, Dr. Oye predicted that 2019 would be better than 2018 in many aspects, especially in the general welfare of Nigerians.

He predicated his optimism on the fact that God who we serve "is a merciful and gracious God that will not allow his people to suffer unduly", expressing hope that some of the fiscal measures introduced by the federal government in the outgoing year would begin to bear fruit.

He appealed to Nigerians to remain prayerful and continue to live in peace and harmony with one another.

He described 2018 as a very excruciating year for many Nigerians, but urged those that went through one sad experience or another to continue to look at the bright side of life, "because no condition in life is permanent".

Dr. Oye called on INEC not to dash the hope of Nigerians in the electoral process by ensuring that the 2019 general election is free and fair.

He prayed God to bless and keep Nigeria United amidst mounting insecurity, ethnocentricity and corruption that have threatened the stability of the country.

FACTS BEHIND THE NEDG/BON EXCLUSION OF APGA FROM THE 2019 PRESIDENTIAL/VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES

It is important to draw the attention of millions of our members and supporters across the country to the facts behind the exclusion of our presidential/vice-presidential candidates from the debates organised by the Nigeria Election Debate Group(NEDG) and Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) recently.
In the first place, it was purely a private sector initiative powered by both organizers. That not withstanding, APGA made a very strong representation to the organizers when it learned of the exclusion early on Monday. In response the organizers drew our attention to the fact that the choice of presidential and vice-presidential candidates to appear for the debate was done by voters on the social media platform, which it thoroughly supervised. The organisers also drew our attention to other laid down procedures as designed by them, which were meticulously followed.

It is our position that there was no reason for not including APGA candidates on the debates since the party is the third largest political party in the country, with a serving governor and numerous members in the state and national legislative assemblies.

Following our unyielding stance on the matter, the organisers have promised to look into the matter dispassionately with a view to accommodating it in the next round of debates holding on January 19, 2019.

We urge our members to remain calm as everything humanly possible is being done to correct the obvious anomaly.
We wish to reiterate the fact that APGA is in the 2019 presidential race to win and, therefore, will not tolerate any acts targeted at sabotaging its efforts as this would be stoutly resisted.
We assure our teeming members that General John Gbor and his running mate, Chief Jerry Chukwueke, form a formidable team with a clear-cut plan to take Nigeria to the next level of development based on equity, social justice and good governance.

It advised NEDG/BON not to do anything that could tarnish their reputation but ensure that justice is done to those that deserve it.

APGA DISOWNS JERRY OBASI AND HIS COHORTS

The attention of the National Leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been drawn to some Media reports doing the round, emanating from a so called Press Conference by one Chief (Deacon) Jerry Obasi and Alhaji A. D. Musa, claiming to be respectively the National Chairman and National Secretary of an imaginary faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, called Authentic-APGA. calling on the National Chairman and the National Leader of APGA to resign their positions forthwith, among other uncomplimentary remarks and unfounded insinuations.

However, ordinarily the party would have ignored their childish rantings, innuendos and shenanigans, since both of them had been expelled from the party at the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Awka, on December 21, 2016 for gross misconduct and anti-party activities, which had been their stock in trade over time.

There are no records anywhere of their readmission into the party neither do they hold any Executive positions to warrant the claim of the positions they ascribed to themselves. Their action was premeditated and targeted causing confusion and disaffection in the party for pecuniary gains. This is a practice they had been associated with at various times in the past long before their expusion.

The party calls on security agencies to arrest and prosecute them immediately for impersonation and name-dropping.

APGA NOTICE

Pursuant to the APGA Timetable and Schedule of Activities for Primary Elections 2018, the party shall commence sale of Ad hoc Delegates forms from Tuesday, September 18, 2018 to Wednesday, September 19, 2018

The Ad hoc Delegates forms are obtainable upon payment of non refundable sum of *N10,000 (Ten thousand naira)* into the *National Account* of the party domiciled with Fidelity Bank Plc. Delegates forms shall be sold individually to aspiring delegates, on first come, first serve basis.

There shall be four different sets of Delegates forms for House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and Governorship delegates. Aspiring delegates are at liberty to purchase Delegates forms of their choice.

Aspiring Delegates must be financially up to date. They shall produce:

1. *Proof of payment of Delegates form (Bank Deposit slip)*.

2. *Party membership card*; and

3. *Permanent voters card (PVC)*,

before collection of Ad-Hoc Delegates form.

The forms shall be sold at various States across the country by a *Special Committee* designated for that purpose by the National Secretariat of the party.

All aspiring Ad Hoc delegates should take note and comply accordingly.

Pursuant to its powers under Articles 12 (3) and 24 of the APGA Constitution 2014(as amended), the National Working Committee (NWC) of All Progressives GrandAlliance (APGA) met on 29th August 2019 and approved the following provisionalTimetable/Schedule of Activities for 2018 primary elections towards theforthcoming 2019 general election:

1. SCREENING OF PROSPECTIVE ASPIRANTS ANDDETERMINATION OF APPEALS ARISING THEREFROM
(i) State House of Assembly Screening at the State Secretariats of the Partyor other venue within the State: - September 14th – 15th, 2018.(ii) Determination of Appeals arising from the State House of AssemblyScreening: - September 17th, 2018.
(iii) House of Representatives Screening at the State Secretariats of the Partyor other venue within the State: - September 15th – 16th, 2018.(iv) Determination of Appeals arising from the House of RepresentativesScreening: - September 18th, 2018(v) Senate Screening at the State Secretariats of the Party or other venuewithin the State: - September 20th, 2018.
(vi) Determination of Appeals arising from the Senate Screening: -September 22nd, 2018.

3. RESOLUTION OF APPEALS/DISPUTES ARISING FROM THENON ELECTIVE SPECIAL NATIONAL CONVENTION, STATECONGRESSES AND ALL PRIMARY ELECTIONS

(i) Resolution of State House of Assembly and National Assembly primaryelection appeals/disputes: - October 2nd 2018.
(ii) Resolution of Governorship primary election and National Conventionappeals/disputes: - October 6th 2018.
(iii) All appeals arising from the primary elections shall be directed to the National Secretariat of the Party and determined at the same venue by theappropriate and relevant Appeal Panels.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), felicitates with the Muslim faithful as they mark the Eid al-Kabir; the festival of feast and sacrifice.

The Party urges them as they celebrate to equally use this period to have deep and genuine spiritual reflection as well as imbibe generally the seminal teachings of Allah for the common good of the the nation and humanity at large.

APGA therefore calls on the rich not to fail to extend their hands of assistance to those who do not have among them, so that they will be part of this great celebration notwithstanding the present harsh economic condition in the country.
