Our Roads, Our Safety Our Roads, Our Safety raises awareness about sharing the road safely with large trucks and buses.

The FMCSA's primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries. We work with Federal, State, and local enforcement agencies, the motor carrier industry, labor safety interest groups, and others to ensure safety in motor carrier operations. Another main function of FMCSA is to inform and protect consumers from unscrupulous and predatory actors engaged in interstate ground transit – specifically, when you’re booking a bus or motorcoach trip or planning an interstate move. FMCSA does not endorse any third party or third party content posted on this page unless expressly stated.

Speeding doesn’t just put you at risk—it puts everyone on the road at risk.
Law enforcement officers across the country are working to keep our roads safer by enforcing speed limits and other traffic safety laws, including those that apply to large trucks and buses.

Slow down, stay alert, and drive like a pro. Because America’s roads rely on pros.
