We remember.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation was forever changed by the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Today, we honor the lives lost, the families forever affected, and the courage of the first responders, service members, medical professionals and ordinary Americans who answered in a moment of extraordinary need.

For Army Medicine, that legacy of service continues in the men and women who stand ready to care for others when they are needed most.

We remember their lives. We honor their service. We carry their legacy forward.

Synergy in action.

Leaders from the 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion joined recruiting and U.S. Army Reserve partners today for R2PC at Nevada National Guard Joint Force Headquarters – South in Las Vegas.

The theme of the event was Synergy, with conversations focused on something simple but important: understanding each other’s missions, identifying shared priorities and finding more opportunities to work together.

BG Wilkem D. Mollfulleda, Deputy Commanding General – Support, opened the event by discussing the transformation of the recruiting enterprise and ensuring Army Reserve partners understood the changes taking place across Recruiting Command.

From there, the conversations became practical. LTC Bruce W. Barnes, CSM Walsh, WO1 Williams and SFC Abrao connected with their counterparts and other leaders to discuss upcoming missions, resources, relationships and opportunities to support one another.

A key message throughout the morning was the importance of looking beyond the next event. Synchronizing calendars and identifying shared interests well in advance gives recruiting organizations and local Army Reserve units more opportunities to combine efforts, support their communities and accomplish the mission together.

The 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion welcomed Brig. Gen. Wilkem D. Mollfulleda, Deputy Commanding General – Support, to Las Vegas for a firsthand look at how the Centurions are approaching today’s medical recruiting mission.

During his visit, BG Mollfulleda met with battalion leadership to discuss the recruiting environment, the integration and effectiveness of the Virtual Recruiting Team, and how the battalion continues to find proactive ways to support recruiters across its geographically dispersed footprint.

The conversation continued at the Las Vegas Medical Recruiting Station, where SFC Noni L. Anunciacion and the recruiting team provided a look at the mission from the station level and shared how they are working to connect Army opportunities with healthcare professionals.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the pressures associated with recruiting and the importance of taking care of the force while accomplishing the mission.

BG Mollfulleda encouraged leaders to continue identifying challenges early, advocating for the resources their teams need and maintaining open dialogue up and down the organization.

Before departing, BG Mollfulleda recognized SSG Mighty Cabanlit with a coin for her performance as a leading recruiter and her willingness to step forward and support station leadership when needed.

More than a briefing of numbers and mission requirements, the visit gave senior leadership an opportunity to hear directly from the Soldiers doing the work, recognize what is working and better understand the challenges medical recruiters face every day.

BG Mollfulleda closed the visit by expressing his appreciation for what he learned from the Centurion team and his interest in continuing the dialogue on several of the topics discussed throughout the day.
