🎨 ATT BRONX ARTISTS! 🎨 Applications for the Bronx Arts 2027 Community Engagement Grants (CEGs) are now OPEN! Submit your application by Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

The CEGs program supports local projects that enable Bronx communities to experience and actively engage with the performing, literary, media, or visual arts. Under the CEG umbrella, three funds—Arts Fund, Community Arts, and New Work—provide awards to Bronx-based individual artists, artist collectives, and nonprofit arts and community organizations for community-based projects. Grant awards vary by applicant type and fund, and you can request support for the same project across multiple funds with a single application.

Through September 13, experience Sanford Biggers: Drift at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY. This major solo exhibition by acclaimed artist Sanford Biggers features new textile works, prints, sculptures, and site-responsive installations that explore how materials and symbols are charged with spiritual, cultural, and personal meaning.

Drift traces the multidisciplinary nature of Biggers’ practice—spanning painting, sculpture, video, and performance—through the motif of the cloud, a symbol shaped by unseen forces and ever-changing energy. Highlights include Unsui (Cloud Forest) (2025), a monumental installation of illuminated cloud sculptures suspended from the museum’s arched ceiling, inspired by Zen Buddhist philosophy and Biggers’ time in Japan.

Discover how Biggers draws on influences from Buddhism and Los Angeles graffiti culture to Gee’s Bend quilts and African sculpture, challenging traditional narratives and inviting viewers to reflect on adaptability and transformation.
