The City of Rock Island Government and Project NOW, Inc. are opening an emergency shelter at the The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center as dangerously low temperatures move into our community.

The shelter will be open from 9 PM Friday Dec 12 through 7 AM Monday Dec 15.

We are accepting donations on Friday December 12 ONLY from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at 630 9th Street Rock Island.

Items needed:
Socks and underwear
Sweat pants and sweat shirts
Body wipes
Hand warmers and feet warmers
Individually wrapped snacks
Soft granola bars
Raisins

Bottled water
Coffee grounds

We had a Jolly Ole’ time at our In-person Christmas meeting this morning! ☃️ We exchanged organization information, had some white elephant gift fun 🎁and learned how to make our own charcuterie by our very own Marisa Cantú from the IICIL! Happy Holidays and see you all next year 🎄
