I was born in San Antonio, Texas, where my two brothers and I were raised by our Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father. Mary’s University School of Law. I dedicated my career to studying and working with underprivileged families and children. After working with the Child Support Division of the Attorney General’s Office, and the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in law school, I open
ed my own general law practice. For almost a decade, I represented low-income families, victims of domestic violence, civil litigants and small businesses. In the public sector, I represented non-profit and government agencies, and served as a City Attorney and City Prosecutor for municipalities statewide. My upbringing, education, and experience drove me to dedicate my life to public service. I was elected to the bench in 2018 and am honored to serve as your Judge of the 150th Civil District Court in Bexar County, Texas, where I preside over civil cases involving family law, domestic violence, consumer law, personal injury, medical malpractice, contracts, real estate, oil and gas and more. I also proudly serve as your Co-Chair of the Collaborative Commission on Domestic Violence, where we convene leaders in the judiciary, law enforcement, nonprofits, healthcare, education, legal and faith-based communities to identify gaps and implement strategies in our community to prevent and improve our collective response to domestic violence.
