CWC CUSD 5 has joined the long list of schools on the Awake IL list of 2022 NSES Illinois County Opt Out Schools PA 102 -0522 and will not be teaching the radical National S*x Education Standards in Carmi schools. Thank you to those who spoke up at the school board meetings about this important issue. Thank you also to school board member Barbara Mitchell and Supt. Jarrod Newell for taking the lead in making this happen. We work best when we work together for the benefit of our children!

Why is Illinois the only state to adopt the National S*x Education Standards? Could it be because it is not only age-inappropriate material but also includes very controversial material? Has the CWC CUSD 5 Board taken action on this issue? Do they have a policy concerning teachers who present material outside the approval of the board?

Opposition is growing from parents, religious groups and Republican lawmakers on s*x education standards for Illinois schools.

This is something to listen to in the car or while doing something (caution some profanity). It's a bit long and might need to be done in segments but the info detailing what is happening in the educational system is very, very important. It's has been a subtle shifting that has snowballed into flagrant overtaking of the system. To protect our children in our schools, we must stay aware and alert.
