COMMUNITY CONCERNS

We are aware of recent concerns regarding a black, Ford Explorer in the community that resembles a police squad vehicle. Our officers have identified the vehicle and spoken with the driver. We have confirmed that he is operating as an independent package delivery service.

Please note - there is no cause for alarm regarding this vehicle. While we encourage residents to remain alert and report genuinely suspicious activity, there is no need to call the police solely for seeing a black SUV in town unless additional concerning behavior is observed.

We appreciate the community's vigilance and continued partnership in keeping Lemont safe.

Leadership Transition at Lemont Police Department

Monday night marked a significant moment in the history of the Lemont Police Department. After more than ten years of dedicated service, Chief Marc Maton is officially retiring at the end of August. Chief Maton's leadership, integrity, and commitment to our community have made a lasting impact. We thank him for his unwavering service and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement!

We also proudly welcome our new Chief, Jason LoCoco, who was officially sworn-in at Monday night's Village Board Meeting. Chief LoCoco retired from the Illinois State Police as a Lieutenant Colonel with over twenty-seven years of experience and service. We are confident in his vision and leadership as we move forward together.

A big welcome to Officer Patrick O'Kane, who was also sworn-in Monday. We're excited to have him join the team and begin his journey serving and protecting our community.
