Fire prevention is everyone’s responsibility, and learning about it at an early age can help save lives. In celebration of Fire Prevention Month, Sual Central School warmly welcomed the dedicated personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) who conducted an informative and engaging fire safety orientation for our Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5 learners.
The activity aimed to raise awareness among the pupils about the importance of fire safety and preparedness. The BFP officers shared valuable knowledge about the common causes of fire and the different ways to prevent fire incidents at home, in school, and in the community. Through simple explanations and real-life examples, the learners were able to understand how small actions—such as checking electrical appliances, handling flammable materials carefully, and staying alert—can help prevent dangerous fire situations.
One of the highlights of the activity was the demonstration on the proper use of a fire extinguisher. The BFP personnel explained the different parts of the extinguisher and taught the pupils the basic steps on how to use it during emergencies. The learners also learned important safety procedures, including what to do when a fire occurs, how to remain calm, how to safely evacuate an area, and the importance of calling for help immediately.
The pupils actively participated in the discussion by asking questions and sharing their ideas about fire safety. Their enthusiasm showed how eager they were to learn skills that can help protect themselves and others.
